School Readiness Program

Our School Readiness Program does exactly that – support children to be emotionally, academically and physically ready for school. Through our Mindful Program in Literacy, Numeracy and STEM, our children explore learning within the context of ‘Big School’ in a mindful and stress-free way.

Languages and Creative Arts

We believe that children are naturally creative and we aim to enhance their learning through music, art and language communication. The ability to freely express themselves in many forms and mediums will continuously enhance their brain’s neuroplasticity. We also acknowledge our First Nations People and pay respect to Elders, past, present and emerging. Our children will learn about the traditional owners of the land which Croydon is situated, which are the Wangal people of the Eora nation.

Educational Program

Our life skills program encompasses structured outcomes for children to contextualise their learning with confidence. These include our Worm Farm, Composting, Bee Home and Aquarium. Children also learn about movement through dance, health and hygiene, dental health, road safety and being citizens in their community.

We provide an environment that encourages children to develop their capabilities and interests at their own pace and according to their individual needs. We facilitate intellectual development by widening the child’s experience in order to increase knowledge, basic concepts and skills. We foster a sense of responsibility for one’s own actions through self-help, health, safety and exercising appropriate independence.

Learning Programs

We encourage creativity by offering a variety of materials and frequent experiences in music, art, dramatic play, literature and oral skills. We encourage an interest in language though stories, puppetry, music, games, science materials, problem solving and other conversations.

Pre-Kindergarten is a critical time in a child’s development. Our School Readiness Program focuses on mindful learning methods to encourage children to explore and challenge themselves for independent learning. Our structured program covers learning areas including (but not limited to) Literacy, Numeracy, Language, Music and Culture.

We encourage social development by providing opportunities for sharing, taking turns, making friends, resolving conflicts, solving problems, helping others, recognising and accepting others, cooperating on projects and building self-esteem. We encourage emotional development through verbal expression of thoughts and feelings, experiencing rules and limits, experiencing kindness and recognising and accepting emotions in others.
